Spring 2026 After School Enrichment Program Information
Bullis’ Enrichment Programs offer students the opportunity to explore interests beyond the classroom through hands-on after-school clubs, athletics, and group activities, led by expert providers.
Chess (Co-ed)
Grades: K–5
Day(s)/Times: Mondays 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18 (6 weeks)
Cost: $215 for 6 weeks
Description: Learn chess with Magnus Academy, five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play, including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.
Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time. This in-person club includes free online extras, including weekly practice tournaments, a ChessKid Gold membership ($49 value!), and an event with a chess celebrity. Last year's guests were World Champion Magnus Carlsen and Judit Polgar (the best female chess player of all time). All chess supplies are provided. All skill levels are welcome.

FCGB After School Soccer (Co-ed)
Grades: 3–5

Cost: $205 for 6 weeks
Description: This program provides a fun and exciting opportunity for kids to enhance their soccer skills under the guidance of UEFA-licensed coaches, make new friends, and enjoy a positive, educational environment. Students will develop core skills, improve footwork and coordination, learn tricks, and practice both individual and team concepts. Technical footwork and tactical team play are emphasized through small-sided games and a low instructor-to-student ratio, making it ideal for players of all levels.

Brit-Am After School Soccer Player Development League (Co-ed)
Grades: K–1

Cost: $235 for 6 weeks
Description: The Brit-Am after-school player development league (PDL) is for boys and girls in kindergarten and 1st grade to play soccer after school with classmates. During class, our experienced, licensed coaches provide players with fun, challenging games that develop fundamental athletic skills and basic soccer techniques, such as dribbling, shooting, and turning, while also teaching the attacking and defensive principles of play. Players will also be encouraged to work on sharing, sportsmanship, and fair play.
Players in the program will have the opportunity to participate in their school-based group(s) in weekend games for those interested.

Intro to Sewing (Co-ed)
Grades: 4–6
Day/Time: Tuesdays 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12 (6 weeks)
Cost: $225 for 6 weeks
Description: In this introductory sewing club, students will learn the basics of hand stitching and easy machine sewing while building confidence, creativity, and fine motor skills. Each class introduces a new beginner-friendly technique, followed by guided practice time as students work toward their own individual creative project. Using simple materials like basic muslin, broadcloth, and felt, students will explore sewing fundamentals such as threading a needle, running stitch, whip stitch, zigzag stitch, and how to create projects with or without patterns.
No prior sewing experience is needed, just the willingness to create! By the end of the 6 weeks, every student will take home a handmade project they designed and stitched themselves.

Sportsmania (Co-ed)
Grades: 3–5
Day/Time: Wednesdays 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13 (6 weeks)
Cost: $225 for 6 weeks per student
Description: This program is designed to help students build confidence, stay active, and enjoy learning new sports in a positive environment, while engaging in a variety of sports and physical activities. Throughout the six-week session, students will be introduced to the fundamental skills of multiple sports and games. Participants will focus on age-appropriate skill development, teamwork, coordination, and gameplay.
No prior sports experience is required, just a willingness to play, learn, and have fun!

Introduction to Fencing (Co-ed)
Grades: 2–5
Day/Time: Wednesdays 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13 (6 weeks)
Cost: $260 for 6 weeks
Description: This class is designed for both experienced and novice students. Students will be grouped based on their experience and instructed accordingly. An introduction to defensive and offensive tactics, posture, balance, and movement is taught to beginner fencers. This program will focus on the basics of fencing, including the mental, physical, and strategic aspects of the sport, while providing a good aerobic workout. The modern Olympic sport of fencing, with its long tradition of “swordsmanship,” will be taught by internationally and nationally certified coach Moniteur D’Armes Tejav Safai, with nearly 53 years of experience as a fencer and coach.
Equipment usage (rental) is included in the fee. Equipment includes gloves, mask, jacket, and blade.

Lower School Girls’ Field Hockey
Grades: 3–5
Day/Time: Thursdays 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14 (6 weeks)
Cost: $225 for 6 weeks per student
Description: Our Field Hockey Enrichment Program welcomes any student in grades 3–5 to participate in an introduction to field hockey. Led by the Bullis Varsity Field Hockey Coach, Caitlin Zolet, and Junior Varsity/Middle School Coach, Amara Brooks, we will cover the basic skills of field hockey: dribbling, passing, and shooting. During the six-week session, we will also introduce proper warm-up and stretching techniques for any athletic activity. We look forward to working with your child in a fun environment to develop their work ethic, coachability, and team-oriented attitude.
Participants will need shin guards and a mouth guard. Having their own stick is encouraged but optional, as sticks are available to borrow.

Young Debaters (Co-ed)
Grades: 3–5
Day/Time: Thursdays 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14 (6 weeks)
Cost: $275 for 6 weeks
Description: Students learn the art of persuasion and help select debate topics they find interesting. Using a public forum debate format, campers work in groups and practice their debating skills in a supportive environment, including developing arguments, issuing rebuttals, providing examples, rebuilding their case, and summarizing points of view. Students will learn to think on their feet and enhance their public-speaking skills, gaining self-confidence in the process.
