Class Title: Chess
Open to Grades K - 5
Mondays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12 (6 weeks)
Cost for Families: $200 for 6 weeks
Description: Learn chess with Magnus Academy, five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.
Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time. This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments, a Chesskid Gold membership ($49 value!), and an event with a chess celebrity. Last year's guests were World Champion Magnus Carlsen and Judit Polgar (the best female chess player of all time). All chess supplies provided. All skill levels are welcome. Class Title: My First Lemonade Stand

Cost for Families: $250 for 6 weeks
Description: Let’s sell lemonade! Learn how to make sweet and tangy lemonade – and make money by selling it! Experiment with recipes, design flyers, learn how to count money, make change and tally your profits. Then, in a showcase finale event, launch your lemonade stand and sell, sell, sell, and raise funds for a charity students select! The program culminates with a showcase event, students launch their stand as a fundraiser for a charity they select!

Class Title: Rounded Bites

Tuesdays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13 (6 weeks)
Cost for Families: $245 for 6 weeks
Description: Who loves cheeseballs, truffles, and other bite sized snacks?! This spring get ready for some amazing “ball” shaped goodies. In this unique session, students will "round 'em up" by creating Popcorn Balls, Snowball Truffles, and Homemade Meatballs. There's nothing square about this class-let's get the ball rolling!

Description: Experiment-a-mania is a cornucopia of experiments! Children will uncover the vital role that science plays in detective work, examine the science behind popular toys and get a buzz out of the amazing world of insects! Your Jr Mad Scientists will explore earth science, weather phenomena, and experiment with some kitchen chemistry. Children will build their own Mad Science machine, and create their own short animated cartoon!

Class Title: Something’s Special About Our Art!

Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14 (6 weeks)
Cost for Families: $200 for 6 weeks
Description: There’s something special about the way we create art! From colorful underwater scenes to cats dreaming of fish, we’ll explore the bright colors and tropical fish represented in the work of Nathalie Le Riche. Read about Mr. Plumbean’s special odd house in “The Big Orange Splot” and explore the texture and symbolism of rock art. Our art is as distinctive as it is sparkly, pearly, and full of visual texture!

Class Title: Introduction to Fencing
Open to Grades 2 - 6
Thursdays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Dates: 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15 (6 weeks)
Cost for Families: $310 for 6 weeks
Description: This class is designed for both experienced and novice students. Students will be grouped based on their experience and instructed accordingly. An introduction to defensive and offensive tactics, posture, balance, and movement, is taught to the beginner fencers. This program will focus on the basics of fencing: focusing on the mental, physical, and strategic aspects of the sport, while providing a good aerobic workout. The modern Olympic sport of fencing with the long tradition of “swordsmanship”, will be taught by International and Nationally Certified Coach Moniteur D’Armes, Tejav Safai, with close to 53 years of experience as a fencer and a coach.
Equipment usage (rental) is included in the fee. Equipment includes gloves, mask, jacket and blade.
