Bullis' delegation of 8 students represent Greece

By Ben Mosteller

We had a wonderful last day in New York yesterday! The students had the opportunity to visit the General Assembly Hall of the UN Headquarters. I am always struck by the grandeur and beauty not only of the room but also of the work that goes on in that space. In the closing ceremonies, we heard from Ms. Anucha Browne, the Chief Strategy and Engagement Officer for UNICEF. She was a former executive for the NY Nicks and the NCAA. Ms. Brown shared the importance of not giving up and using your voice to bring change. Her message was especially poignant on the day after International Women's Day. We then heard a brief summary of the work that went on in each committee during the conference over the course of the week. It was an impressive array of work.

I'm immensely proud of each of our Bullis students and the work they've done over the past four days. They collaborated, debated, got outside of their comfort zones, and created solutions to real problems. I'm reminded now more than ever of the importance of diplomacy and working together in our increasingly global world. In the words of Anucha Browne, "after seeing you all today, I will be telling everyone that we will be okay because we are in good hands with this next generation!".
