Bullis' delegation of 8 students represent Greece

By Ben Mosteller

It's been a full first day in New York City! Bullis' delegation of 8 students will represent Greece at the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference over the next three days. They will have the chance to collaborate with over 1,000 students from 60 different countries to discuss some of the most pressing issues in our world.

After dinner together, we heard from Ambassador Jonathan Cohen at the opening ceremonies. With over 30 years of work in diplomacy around the globe, Ambassador Cohen became the acting permanent representative of the United States to the UN on January 1, 2019. He spoke of the importance of global dialogue and collaboration and inspired the students to make the most of their time in the coming days. Students then headed to their first committee for opening debate, where they remain hard at work now.
