Another Chapter in the History of Bullis

Bullis Head of School Dr. Gerald L. Boarman has announced that he will be leaving Bullis at the completion of his current contract in June 2020. Dr. Boarman has been a transformative leader during his eight years at Bullis, and his work has touched every aspect of our school.

Today Bullis welcomes over 800 diverse, gifted students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Four Signature Programs in Entrepreneurship, Humanities & Global Studies, STEM, and Visual & Performing Arts, have distinguished Bullis as a leader in interdisciplinary study and experiential education. Exceptional faculty and a dedicated, talented staff encourage our students to reach their full potential in an academically rigorous, stimulating, and exciting environment. Innovations like Discovery Days, joining the Mastery Transcript Consortium, and having an Artist-In-Residence program are some of Dr. Boarman's lasting initiatives.

The Discovery Center, now the heart of our beautiful 102-acre sprawling campus, is a prime example of Bullis setting new standards among independent schools.

We are grateful to Dr. Boarman for his vision and his leadership, and for the many successes we have shared in the classrooms, on the stage, in the studios, in the gym, and on the fields. His legacy of positive change will endure.

The Board of Trustees will convene a comprehensive global Head of School search immediately and announce the new Head at this time next year. The Board is excited about the opportunity and the honor to bring on only the sixth Head of School in our 90-year history.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Boarman for his continuing leadership, and in celebrating the remainder of his tenure.
