Beginner Coding

Learn the basics of programming, and create animated stories, video games, and interactive artwork! Campers utilize Scratch, a child-friendly programming language developed by MIT. Using colorful programming blocks, campers drag and “snap” them together to make a character walk, speak, play music, or interact with other characters. Campers who have little to no previous programming experience will benefit from this camp which teaches what is widely considered the “new literacy”: programming. As campers create with Scratch, they develop the ability to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically.

Provider: Club SciKidz offers interactive science and technology programs that nurture in children a life-long passion of inquiry and discovery in an increasingly technical world (www.clubscikidzmd.com).
