We are delighted to welcome an incredible team of new Middle School teaching faculty for the 2021-2022 school year.

Welcome to the Bullis Community!

Sara Greenberg

Sarah Greenberg, 8th Grade Math teacher

Sarah Greenberg comes to us with six years of middle school math teaching experience, most recently at the Field School where she taught Algebra I and Math 6. Sarah studied natural resources and animal sciences as an undergraduate at Cornell and began her career in education as a math and science teacher with Teach for America. She recently completed her M.Ed. in educational leadership, focusing on K-8 mathematics at George Mason University, where she was awarded the college’s “Outstanding Student in Mathematics Education Award”. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys coaching and playing sports like lacrosse and basketball.

Mao-Tong Wang

Mao-Tong Wang, 8th Grade American Studies teacher

Mao-Tong Wang has spent the previous ten years in teaching, leadership, and coaching roles at independent schools from Connecticut to Virginia. He joins Bullis most recently from Sandy Spring Friends School where he taught U.S. and World History and served as the 9th Grade Dean. He has been significantly involved in DEI work, specifically evaluating curriculum and working to address implicit bias in hiring processes. Mao holds degrees from Ohio University, Kansas State University, and the University of Maryland. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, running, and is an avid baseball card collector, with hopes that his collection will contribute to his retirement fund someday!

Merita Zajmi

Merita Zajmi, 8th Grade Science teacher

Merita Zajmi is an experienced science educator joining us from Green Acres where she served as the middle school science teacher for the past 14 years. While there, Merita developed an Engineering Arts class focused on addressing global challenges like sustainable development, clean water, and climate change. Before moving to the US, Merita earned degrees in Physics and Mathematics Education from the University of Shkodra and worked as a journalist in Albania reporting on local and national news during the post- communist-era movements toward democracy. Merita enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, small woodworking projects, and traveling with her husband and children.
