Spotlight on Bullis Students at the 2025 Maryland State Thespian Festival

This past weekend, a group of talented students from Bullis School had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of theatre at the Maryland State Thespian Festival. Accompanied by faculty members Mr. Charles Johnson, Mx. Felix Clarke, and Ms. Chelsie King, 29 enthusiastic students participated in a dynamic two-day event filled with competitions, workshops, and outstanding performances.
During the festival, students engaged in a variety of troupe events, including speed charades, a tech challenge, and an invigorating improv contest. The workshops offered a chance to explore diverse theatre skills, ranging from stage combat in heels to directing, and even creating fake blood for productions. The students also enjoyed performances from other schools, including their own One Act play, Seven Menus, which featured a stellar cast: Alisa Ross '27, Zae Anderson '25, Juliet Wade '27, Taylor Smith '25, Abe Gold '27, Sebby Schroth '27, and Kylie Works '27.
A notable highlight of the event was the involvement of three Bullis students—Zae Anderson '25, Brookey Talbott '26, and Sebby Schroth '27—who proudly represented the school as State Thespian Officers. Their dedication and leadership significantly contributed to the organization and success of the festival.
