Bullis Humane Society Club Helps Local Dogs and Cats in Critical Need
Bullis Humane Society Club Pet Food Drive

The Bullis Humane Society Club (BHS) teamed up with the National Honor Society (NHS) to organize a pet food drive to support the Allegany County Animal Shelter (ACAS) to help dogs and cats which are in critical need.

Bullis 10th Graders, Dylan and Grisham T., who led the drive, dropped off the donations this weekend. They unloaded and stocked supplies in storage sheds, fed treats to and visited with each and every dog, played with the cats, and even helped maintenance with a repair project. Their efforts were so appreciated by the staff at ACAS.

ACAS subsequently offered Dylan and Grisham a tour of the former kill shelter and gas chamber where animals used to be housed. The staff at ACAS is so proud that they rehabilitate and shelter animals without ever resorting to euthanization - even though they receive very limited county funding.

Way to go Bullis Humane Society - we are very proud of your service! Also, a BIG thank you to NHS, Caroline Hamilton, Julie Finegan, and the Bullis community for joining the initiative!

All animals in the photos are available for adoption!
