Bullis Alum Quincy Wilson '26 Makes History with Third Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year Award

One of the most decorated student-athletes in Bullis history adds another prestigious honor to an extraordinary career.

Bullis School proudly congratulates recent graduate Quincy Wilson ’26 on being named the 2025–26 Gatorade Maryland Boys Track & Field Player of the Year, marking the third time he has earned the state's highest honor for high school track and field.

Widely regarded as the nation's premier award for high school athletes, the Gatorade Player of the Year program recognizes excellence in athletic achievement, academic success, and exemplary character. Quincy now joins an elite group of athletes whose accomplishments have shaped the sport at the highest levels.

Quincy's senior season was nothing short of remarkable.

The returning Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year recorded the second-fastest 400-meter time in the nation, finishing in 44.84 seconds to earn a silver medal at the USATF Under-20 Championships. He also anchored Bullis' 4x400-meter relay to a runner-up finish at New Balance Nationals, earning All-American honors.

Among his many highlights this spring were victories in the 400 meters at the Arcadia Invitational (45.48) and the Pepsi Florida Relays (45.97), further cementing his status as one of the country's premier sprinters.

Already the World U18 record holder in the 400 meters after his historic 44.10 performance in 2025, Quincy also showcased his versatility by running 52.52 in the 400-meter hurdles, ranking among the nation's top prep athletes.

His dominance has made history. Quincy graduates as a three-time Gatorade Maryland Boys Track & Field Player of the Year, a distinction achieved by very few athletes nationwide.

"Quincy Wilson will go down as one of the greatest single-lap racers in high school history," said Rich Gonzalez, editor of PrepCalTrack.com. "His wins at the Arcadia Invitational and the Pepsi Florida Relays this spring, followed by his silver medal and All-American honors at nationals, are proof of his continued prowess. He'll graduate with eight ISL/IAC/MAC or DMV outdoor championships and, of course, who can forget his making the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team."

Beyond the track, Quincy exemplified the values of the Bullis community. He maintained an A average throughout high school, served as an active member of the Bullis Black Student Union, volunteered with Wayman Good Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church, and helped organize athletic shoe donations for local youth.

This fall, Quincy will continue both his academic and athletic journey at the University of Maryland, where he has signed to compete on scholarship.

While his journey at Bullis has come to an end, Quincy leaves as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in school history. His record-breaking performances, Olympic achievements, humility, and commitment to excellence have inspired teammates, classmates, and the entire Bullis community, leaving a legacy that will be felt for generations of Bulldogs.
