Bullis Alum Monique Currie ’01 Inducted into Washington Mystics Hall of Fame

Bullis proudly congratulates alumna Monique "Mo" Currie '01 on her induction into the Washington Mystics Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors bestowed by the franchise. Monique was recognized during the Mystics' Legends Night celebration on July 7, celebrating her extraordinary impact on the organization and the game of basketball.

A Washington, D.C., native, Monique is one of the most accomplished players in Bullis history. She led the Bulldogs to a remarkable 96-6 record during her varsity career and helped guide the team to four consecutive conference championships. Her success at Bullis launched an exceptional basketball journey that has earned recognition at every level.

Following her standout career at Bullis, Monique became one of the most decorated players in Duke University history. In 2024, she was inducted into the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame, recognizing a collegiate career that included three ACC Player of the Year honors, All-America recognition, and a lasting legacy with the Blue Devils.

Selected third overall in the 2006 WNBA Draft by the Charlotte Sting, Monique went on to enjoy a distinguished 12-year WNBA career. She spent the majority of that time with her hometown Washington Mystics, where she became one of the franchise's all-time leading scorers and a fan favorite known for her leadership, consistency, and scoring ability. During her Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Mystics celebrated not only her accomplishments on the court but also her lasting influence on the organization and women's basketball in the Washington region.

At Bullis, Monique's legacy has long been celebrated. She has been inducted into the Bullis Athletics Hall of Fame twice—first as an individual athlete and again as a member of the legendary 2000–2001 Girls Varsity Basketball Team, recognizing both her individual excellence and the team's historic achievements.

Monique's latest Hall of Fame honor is a testament to decades of excellence, perseverance, and leadership. From Bullis to Duke to the WNBA, she has inspired generations of student-athletes while proudly representing the Bullis community on the national stage.
