Bullis Alum Alex (Aust) Holman ’09 Helps Make History in Women’s Lacrosse

Bullis alum Alex (Aust) Holman ’09 helped make history this weekend as a member of the Maryland Charm, who captured the inaugural Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL) championship with a 16–13 victory over the California Palms in Philadelphia.

Holman delivered a standout performance in the championship game, scoring three goals, including the game-winning goal with approximately five minutes remaining. Less than 10 months after giving birth to her son, Tiger, Holman returned to the field to deliver a vintage performance when her team needed it most.

The inaugural WLL season marks an important milestone for women’s lacrosse, providing a new professional platform for female athletes. The league is part of the Premier Lacrosse League, co-founded by Montgomery County natives Paul and Mike Rabil, with a goal of creating sustainable professional opportunities in the sport.

For Holman, a former Bullis lacrosse standout, the championship adds another accomplishment to an impressive career—and offers an inspiring example of perseverance, dedication, and excellence both on and off the field.
