Bullis Represents at 15th Regional U.S Chinese Language Proficiency Competition
Jiselle J. '24, Katie M. '27, and Kylie W. '27 at 15th Regional U.S. Chinese Language Proficiency Competition.
Recently three Bullis students — Katie M. '27, Kylie W. '27, and Jiselle J. '24 attended the 15th Regional U.S. Chinese Language Proficiency Competition, 第十五届 "汉语桥 "世界中学生中文比赛, which was organized by the Education Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and Chinese Bridge Club in Maryland (formerly the Confucius Institute at University of Maryland).
The competition required a Chinese speech (70% of the total score) and a Chinese cultural performance (30% of the total score). All three students presented excellent speeches and performances, including a Chinese martial arts solo performance, a Chinese song- "Jasmine Flower," and a viola performance, "Purple Bamboo."
At the Middle School Level, Katie M. earned 1st place, and Kylie W. earned 2nd place. Jiselle J. earned 2nd place at the High School Level. And our very own Ms. Clarke was honored with an award as Excellent Instructor for the K-8 Level.
