Advanced Studio Art I Students Showcase Their Vision of Bullis Through Campus Illustrations
This spring, students in Advanced Studio Art I turned their artistic attention to the Bullis campus, creating original illustrations that captured the places that matter most to them.
To begin the project, students explored both the interior and exterior spaces of campus, searching for visually compelling compositions. The locations they selected were more than just interesting scenes—they were personally meaningful places that reflected their individual experiences at Bullis.
Students were given complete artistic freedom in how they interpreted their chosen locations. They selected their own materials, color palettes, seasons, and times of day, resulting in a diverse collection of artwork. While some artists focused on realistic depictions of campus, others embraced imaginative and creative interpretations.
Despite the variety of styles and approaches, all students were challenged to demonstrate their understanding of linear perspective within their compositions, applying key artistic concepts while developing their unique creative voices.
The Bullis community was invited to vote for their favorite pieces, and an impressive 324 votes were cast. Congratulations to this year's award winners:
