8th Grade Robot Creatures

Students in the 8th grade Creative Design and Technology program have been making robot creatures!

Students learned how to create movable mechanisms, such as rotating heads and moving tails for their robots. Their robot creatures included such critters as dogs, a pig, a sheep, and a chameleon-turtle hybrid; and are constructed of cardboard, fabric, and various materials.

Students also learned how to implement different types of motor and sensors (such as sound and light) in their designs — and then learned to code everything to make their robots move and respond to computer commands.
