Bullis Juniors 2022 National History Day - Debate & Diplomacy in History

This year, Bullis students enrolled in 11th grade United States History and AP United States History completed research projects using the National History Day (NHD) format. The 2021-2022 NHD theme is “Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.”
Each student selected a topic, conducted extensive research, and created either an exhibit or website to display their project. Students used the Bullis databases to locate primary and secondary sources, construct an annotated bibliography, and craft an original introduction and thesis statement that identified the way in which their topic connected to the theme.
Some students also created Flipgrid presentations to accompany their exhibits and websites in order to share their presentations with parents and peers during class. Parents were invited to attend class virtually and share in the class presentations.
Exhibit boards and website QR Codes for students, some of whom self-selected to compete in the official National History Day competition, are also on display in the Blair Family Center for the Arts Lobby on campus through the end of this month. Special thanks to Ms. Roshan, Mr. Zigler, and Ms. Polun for all of their help and support with this project.
