I am currently a Senior, and I have been at Bullis since 6th Grade.

What classes have you most enjoyed at Bullis and why?

One of my favorite classes at Bullis was Humanities Seminar with Mrs. Hosmer and Mrs. Topliffe my junior year. I loved how the class was discussion based and allowed for me to make connections between History and English. I also loved Chemistry with Dr. McDaniels because I was always excited to learn and the class was super engaging. Dr. McDaniels really cared about making connections with every single student.

What activities do you participate in at Bullis?

I have played both varsity lacrosse and field hockey for the past four years, and I am also a Peer Mentor and NHS Member. I have also been the co-head of the Bulldog Uniform Rescue Initiative and I coach for Bethesda Lacrosse outside of school.

What are you most passionate about and why?

I am most passionate about building relationships with people around me. No matter whether it is in school with peers and teachers, or with family and friends in my personal life, I think building strong connections creates a strong foundation in your life that helps you succeed no matter what you do.

What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?

One global challenge I would like to see tackled is breaking down systemic oppression and implicit biases not only on a global scale, but in smaller community settings. As a human race, we need to be more empathetic and kind towards each other, and this begins in small communities such as schools, churches, and workplaces. In order to tackle global issues, we need to start small and work our way up. One way I see myself contributing to this positive change is through staying educated, reading lots of books with different perspectives, and diving into challenging and meaningful discussion with peers and teachers so we can be more empathetic and understanding of each others' unique challenges and situations.

Choose Bullis because of the unique opportunities to get involved in your community each and every day. Whether this is an average Tuesday on campus, or during Homecoming week, there is always something going on, and an opportunity to apply yourself to your interests and passions. When I was a prospective student, I chose Bullis because of the kindness and empathy that is woven throughout campus, from teachers saying hello and holding doors, to the community service aspects that allow you to give back. I wouldn't trade the friendships and connections I have made here for anything in the world, and I wouldn't have wanted to spend my past seven years anywhere else.
