2005 Bullis Boys Soccer Team

A Perfect Season, a Record That Still Stands, a Team Forever Remembered.

The 2005 Bullis Boys Soccer Team has been inducted into the Bullis Athletics Hall of Fame, celebrating one of the most remarkable seasons in school history and a legacy of excellence that still stands today.

In the fall of 2005, the Bulldogs wrote their names into the record books by completing the Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC) schedule undefeated and untied (10‑0‑0) — a feat no other Bullis boys soccer team has accomplished. Combining precision on both ends of the field with unwavering consistency, the squad finished 17‑1‑0 overall, the lone loss doing nothing to diminish a season defined by dominance. Over the full campaign, Bullis outscored opponents by a staggering 61‑7 margin while maintaining the lowest goals‑against average in program history (0.39). Their stingy defense and sharp attack were central to their championship run and remain benchmarks for future Bulldogs.

Standout individual performances helped fuel the team’s success. Senior defender Paul Potemra anchored a back line that held opponents to just seven goals all season and earned first‑team All‑Met honors for his leadership and play — a testament to his impact on both ends of the pitch. Meanwhile, midfielder Rodney Wallace drove the offense, finishing with 14 goals and seven assists, showcasing his playmaking ability in an unforgettable season.

The team was expertly guided by Coaches George Moore and Bobby Pollicino, whose leadership laid the foundation for tactical excellence and group unity. Off the field, Team Manager Lindsay Dubroff ’08 played a vital role in keeping the squad organized and focused throughout the rigorous season.

Notably, Rodney Wallace played collegiate soccer at the University of Maryland before embarking on a professional career in Major League Soccer, including a notable tenure with D.C. United.
