2000-01 Girls Varsity Basketball Team

The 2000-01 Varsity Girls' Basketball team was coached by Head Coach Wayne Ferrell and was assisted by Cedric Boatman and Kira Orr '93. The team finished the season with a 20-2 record, defending their Independent School League title from the previous season where the team went a perfect 20-0. They were consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the Washington Post, reaching as high as #1 in area and in the state of Maryland. They were also ranked in the top 25 in the country by USA Today. The team was led by starting seniors Erin Ferrell (Wake Forest), Monique Currie (Duke) and Krystalyn Ellerbe (Syracuse). Nine members of the team went on to play collegiate basketball, six of which were at Division I schools.
