Lower School Art Show: Spring 2021
The Lower School Art Show features artwork from our talented young artists in Kindergarten through 5th grade!
- Class of 2033: Kindergarteners’ explored oil pastel, paint, printmaking, and collage.
- Class of 2032: First graders learned the complex processes of weaving, forming objects in clay, multi-media collage, and oil/watercolor resist painting.
- Class of 2031: Second graders learned to weave in a radial pattern, create realistic and abstract works in paint and oil pastel, form pinch pot animals using clay, and complete multi-layered cicada prints.
- Class of 2030: Third graders focused on realism and perspective in drawing and painting, and created both clay and paper sculptures
- Class of 2029: Fourth graders learned to draw self-portraits, then created a mixed-media collage portrait of an immigrant they interviewed for their cross-curricular social studies unit on immigration.
- Class of 2028: Fifth graders have been diligently working on self-portrait latch hook rugs. They started their work in October, and learned to differentiate color values, follow a pattern, and to budget their time over several months to complete these intricate artworks.
