Bullis School Theatre Brings “Pandora: A Tragicomic Greek Romp” to Edinburgh Fringe – August 2025

Boy Meets Girl. Girl Has a Box That Could Destroy the World.

POTOMAC, MD, USA — Myth, comedy, and catastrophe collide in Pandora: A Tragicomic Greek Romp, a fresh, fast-paced retelling of the Pandora myth that asks What happens when curiosity meets chaos?

Originally a 2011 Capital Fringe Festival hit, Pandora returns in 2025 with a brand-new cast from Potomac, Maryland’s Bullis School for a six-show run at the iconic Edinburgh Festival Fringe—the largest performing arts festival in the world. The production will be staged at Paradise Green (Vault Venue) from August 2–9, 2025.

Written by acclaimed sibling duo Shawn and Ann FraistatPandora unleashes a whirlwind of gods, monsters, love, betrayal, and one dangerously irresistible box. This madcap reimagining is equal parts hilarious and heartfelt, offering a modern take on ancient tragedy that’s as uncomfortably human as it is sharply comedic.

“It’s a comedy with teeth,” says director Chelsie King. “We want the audience to laugh, think, and maybe see themselves in these flawed, mythic characters. The students have thrown themselves into it with incredible heart.”

The talented student cast—Alisa Ross, Abe Gold, Juliet Wade, Sebastian Schroth, Anastasiya Swift, Kylie Works, Eitan Skolnick, and Callum MacMaster—bring this reimagined tale to life, balancing laughs and pathos in equal measure. They’ll join over 3,500 international acts at the world’s largest arts festival in what promises to be a transformative theatrical adventure.
