  • What grade did you start at Bullis?
  • I started at Bullis in the 7th grade.

  • What activities do you participate in at Bullis?
  • At Bullis, I play field hockey and lacrosse. I was a part of Student Government as a co-president of the Middle School. I also was a part of Model UN. I participate in Technical Theater. I love to participate in community service, and two of my friends and I hosted a toy drive for Friendship Circle. I was also a member of the Emerging Leaders Academy.

  • What are you most passionate about and why?
  • I am most passionate about playing sports. I love to exercise and be a part of a team. Field hockey and lacrosse are both team sports so I always have friends to count on and talk to while playing a sport I truly enjoy. Practices are my opportunities during the week to take my mind off of stress from school or home life. I love making jokes with my teammates and making them smile because that is what gives me the most joy.

  • What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?
  • One Global challenge that I would like to see improve is sexism. Women are not seen as equals to men in many people's eyes. I think the difference in pay, rules in sports, and overall the difference in how we are treated is a huge problem. One thing I can do to contribute to change is encouraging peers and family members to vote for a candidate who shows promise and has women's rights as a part of their campaign. Eventually I want to start my own business, and I will make sure to pay all of my co-workers equally. I really hope that in the years to come, America has a female president. It is so shocking that we have only had male presidents and it is so disappointing. I hope that in my lifetime I have the opportunity to vote for and support a female president.

  • What do you like most about the Bullis community?
  • One of my favorite things about Bullis is how friendly and welcoming every faculty member and the students are. I remember my first day, walking in and being so unbelievably nervous. When I walked to my locker a group of girls walked up to me and immediately introduced themselves. This is an example that models how every Bullis student acts. Kids are always holding doors, answering questions, helping new students, etc. From the first day at this school, I felt so welcomed and I felt like I belonged here. I make sure to wave to faculty and smile at everyone I pass on campus. I am so thankful that the community is so caring and kind because it makes school more enjoyable and takes away the stress of being left out or feeling like there is no one you can turn to talk to.
