How long have you been at Bullis?

Since 2014

What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?

Lower School STEM teacher for 5 years, 2014-2019; STEM director, 2019-present

What made you decide to work in an educational setting?

My desire to make a positive impact on the environment and, therefore, future generation's quality of life through education.

What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?

We have amazing resources to provide an excellent setting for a top-notch education. But at the end of the day, the colleagues and students I work with day in and day out is one of my favorite things about working at Bullis.

When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?

Farming, biking, working with dogs

Who is someone that inspires you and how?

Bill Nye inspires me because of his deep knowledge and fun-loving approach toward teaching science. At the same time, he has remained engaged with the current state of affairs with regards to climate change challenges that face us today.

What is the best book or production that you have read, watched, or listened to lately?

Still think Hamilton is pretty great!

What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?

Climate Change; Environmental Stewardship. I see my role as the STEM director contributing to this problem by educating and inspiring our students to feel empowered to understand and take on this challenge.

What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?

In the winter of 1996 I mushed with sled dogs while we watched over 500" of snow fall over the course of the winter. It was difficult, magical, impactful, and life changing.

Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?

Choose Bullis because it is a good fit for students who want the opportunity to discover new ways in which education can be empowering, transformative, and community building.
