What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?
I'm a Middle School teacher, 6th grade advisor, and the Middle School World Languages coordinator.
What made you decide to work in an educational setting?
I've been a teacher all my life; teaching is my passion!
What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?
The great community we have, the freedom to try new things and be supported by my supervisors.
When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?
Reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, arts & crafts, and Netflix!
Who is someone that inspires you and how?
A great colleague and friend inspires me for constantly trying new things to inspire students and integrating social justice and global competence in her lessons.
What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?
I worry about all the waste that happens in the US because people usually take everything for granted, and they can also afford to buy new things or pay the electricity bill. I always turn off the classroom lights that are still on in South Hall when nobody is working there. I recycle all I can and I collect half used school materials the students trash to donate. Maybe everybody could collect the supplies they are about to trash in a box and donate them to shelters or something like that.
What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?
I worked as a telemarketer for a while between schools and I hated it. It didn't feel right to push people to buy something they didn't need or want.
Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?
The campus is obviously magnificent, but the sense of community and the compassionate and committed teaching faculty and staff is something I haven't seen in other schools I know in the area.
