How long have you been at Bullis?
This is my 10th year at Bullis.
What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?
I am the Director of Events and Alumni Engagement
What made you decide to work in an educational setting?
I attended independent schools throughout my education and had positive experiences and when the job opened at Bullis, I thought it would be a great fit. I had been working for a non-profit in DC after college focusing on school system technology and it was a good transition to working for an independent school.
What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?
I love the sense of community that Bullis offers and that people care about each other.
When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?
I love hiking, cooking, traveling, biking, and reading.
Who is someone that inspires you and how?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is inspiring to me because her stance was always to make the world a better place for everyone, not just herself. I also really respect her fighting for gender equality.
What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?
Gender equality is especially important to me. I want all women and girls to feel empowered to make a difference. Gender equality is so important for multiple aspects including economic development and fighting poverty. In order to contribute to change, I hope to encourage all people to vote, it is one of the easiest civil liberties to do, and voting makes a difference, even in the small elections. We want to vote for the change we want and these decisions are impacted globally.
What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?
Growing up, I would go primitive camping for a week every summer with my family. Looking back, that time away, without technology, was so blissful -- we spent our time boating, skiing, swimming, and playing games. I miss those weeks!
Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?
