How long have you been at Bullis?

Since 2011.

What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?

I serve as the Assistant Head of Middle School.

What made you decide to work in an educational setting?

I was very fortunate throughout my time in school that I always had passionate and supportive teachers. They provided me with endless opportunities to discover my strengths and always allowed me to improve upon growth areas. It was in the 4th-grade when I first realized I wanted to become an educator, and throughout high school, the desire to explore the concept of education exploded. Once I entered my college program, I was hooked, and there was no looking back. Here I am today, still proudly supporting the world of education after 14 years.

What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?

Our Bullis community! My work primarily focuses on Middle School, but I enjoy the opportunity to collaborate with every member of the Bullis community. There is a great sense of respect and joy that overcomes you when you're at Bullis.

When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?

I enjoy being outside and exploring. If I can get on a hiking trail or even explore a National Park, I'm delighted, but I would be lying if I didn't mention my passion for sitting on a beach.

Who is someone that inspires you and how?

My grandmother. She is going strong at 85 years old, and I've always admired her sense of humor, her bold approach to life, and always being our (my siblings and my) biggest fans.

What is the best book or production that you have read, watched, or listened to lately?

Where do I begin? I have this interesting hobby of watching all the Oscar nominated films and trying my best to see as many Emmy nominated shows. Currently, Schitt's Creek is still fresh in my mind as an outstanding tv show, and my current favorite film for this season is The Trail of the Chicago 7. My favorite podcast recently has been What Trump Can Teach Us About Con(stitutional) Law, and a more recent theatrical production that sticks out in my memory is seeing Titanic: The Musical staged at Signature Theater in Arlington, VA.

What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?

All children receiving the best education possible, regardless of their zip codes. Always providing opportunities for children to learn and grow in a positive manner.

What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?

I had perfect attendance 5th-grade through my senior year of high school. As a side note, all I received was a ruler with my name on it that is on display in my office.

Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?

Choosing Bullis means your child receives the attention that they deserve in school.
