How long have you been at Bullis?
Since 2020
What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?
Upper School Testing Coordinator
What made you decide to work in an educational setting?
I love working with high schoolers and crave the collaborative setting of independent schools.
What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?
Working with the students and knowing I am helping them to achieve their potential.
When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?
Theatre, music, reading, going to museums/other cultural sites, and trying new restaurants/food in the DMV area.
What is the best book or production that you have read, watched, or listened to lately?
The Season 2 premiere of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (ZEP). "Musical" TV shows can be really campy, insipid, or overly dramatic. ZEP exudes joy, while tackling difficult topics (like the death of a parent/partner) with sensitivity and genuineness. The music and choreography are really well done and the characters are relatable, lovable, or both. In short: it hits all the feels for me.
What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?
Food insecurity. I volunteer/donate to food banks whenever I can, and, when I find time and resources, will learn what more I can do.
What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?
I worked as an art auctioneer on a cruise ship for a few months before owning that high pressure sales were not my passion, no matter how much I loved talking about the art and curating the on-board gallery.
Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?
Bullis welcomes students from all walks of life, and our commitment to celebrating diversity is an asset. Bullis faculty works hard to give our students the best possible education, both in the classroom, and as a global citizen. In my 10+ years of working in education, I have never seen a faculty more excited to work with students to prepare them for their future. I have also never worked with a group of more engaged or respectful students.
