How long have you been at Bullis?

Since 2015

What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?

Honors and On-Level Algebra 2 teacher, former 7th grade math teacher, Varsity field hockey coach

What made you decide to work in an educational setting?

I was taking a year off between college graduation and starting my job as an economic consultant. Bullis needed an assistant field hockey coach and since I had done the paperwork anyway, I was also listed as a substitute teacher. I fell in love with Bullis and teaching, so I quit my consulting job before even technically starting!

What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?

I love that we have as many opportunities to be involved in the community as the students. From teaching to coaching to organizing community service projects, we are encouraged to pursue our passions.

When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?

I am a competitive equestrian. When I’m not at Bullis, I am with my horses, Jack and Cassidy. Cassidy and I compete at training level eventing. Jack is a budding dressage star.

Who is someone that inspires you and how?

I am inspired by my brothers (both Bullis grads!) I want to be the best person I can be for them and they do the same for me. I really cherish our relationship.

What is the best book or production that you have read, watched, or listened to lately?

Taylor Swift’s albums, Folklore and Evermore. Two new albums in 2020 is exactly what we needed.

What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?

I think inspiring girls to continue in STEM fields is a very pertinent undertaking. I hope to build confidence and spark passion in my math students!

What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?

I studied art in college in addition to applied mathematics and economics. Photography has been a lifelong passion of mine and I love to work in the darkroom.

Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?

Bullis is a safe place to take a chance on pursuing any of your interests. I love that there are so many opportunities to try new things, whether that is joining a sports team, being a part of a musical, or taking an exciting class.
