How long have you been at Bullis?

This is year six for me.

What role or roles do you play at Bullis? If you are teaching faculty, what do you teach?

US Social Studies teacher; advisor to the Model UN Club; 9th Grade Level Coordinator

What made you decide to work in an educational setting?

I taught English in India for a time and loved the interaction with students and the real, tangible impact that teaching can make. That's when I knew I wanted to do it for a career.

What is your favorite thing about working at Bullis?

The opportunities to grow, innovate, and try new things with my teaching! And my awesome colleagues and students.

When not at Bullis, what interests do you pursue?

Traveling, eating all types of food, hiking, cooking, film, and photography

Who is someone that inspires you and how?

My wife. She is someone who jumps into many things with passion. She surfs, paints, gardens, writes, and bakes, all while being an amazing mom. Oh, and a healthcare provider.

What is the best book or production that you have read, watched, or listened to lately?

The film Fruitvale Station. It depicts the last day of Oscar Grant, who was killed by BART police in Oakland in 2009. Super powerful.

What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?

Gender discrimination. Pay and treatment for women around the world is hugely disparate. I want to support businesses and non-profit who are about this work, and I want to make sure that the place where I work treats all of its members equitably.

What is one fun fact about you that others may not know or may surprise them?

I was an extra in the film, Dear John. They were filming in Charleston, SC, where I was living at the time.

Why would you tell a prospective family to choose Bullis?

The Bullis community is truly a community. We care for each other.
