What grade are you currently in and how long have you been a student at Bullis?
-
I am currently a Senior. I started at Bullis as a Freshman, so this is my fourth year.
-
What classes have you most enjoyed at Bullis and why?
-
The three classes I have enjoyed the most at Bullis are Human Geography with Mr. Mosteller during my Freshman year, Chemistry with Dr. McDaniels my Sophomore year, and Epidemiology with Dr. Badraslioglu (Dr.B) my Junior year.
Human Geography was my favorite because Mr. Mosteller made the class really fun and engaging while making sure we were learning and retaining the information. He was very open to asking questions and was always willing to help and give extra information.
Sophomore year Chemistry with Dr. McDaniels was my favorite class. She made chemistry fun with all her chem jokes and puns. She made class exciting and you were always looking forward to the labs we did in Chemistry. This class was perfect because you were having fun and learning at the same time.
In Epidemiology with Dr. B we studied diseases and learned how they form and how you can control them. Even with the hybrid model because of Covid-19 this class has been fun and engaging. It is one of those classes you wish you could take again and again and Dr. B is one of those teachers that you want to have year long. -
What activities do you participate in at Bullis?
-
I have been fortunate enough to be involved in plenty of activities at Bullis. I am the Student Government Association (SGA) Co-President and have participated in SGA since my Freshman year. I was a Junior Ambassador Freshman and Sophomore year, and a Student Ambassador since my Junior year. I am on the varsity wrestling team and I have played JV football.
-
What do you like most about the Bullis community?
-
The thing I like most about the Bullis community is student involvement/engagement. What I mean by this is how the school allows the students to take a more active role in coming up with ideas that benefit the student body. This helps the students develop leadership skills whether this is through SGA, clubs, sports, and/or performing arts.
-
What are you most passionate about and why?
-
WRESTLING. I am passionate about wrestling because it's something that I have been doing for a long time and developed a love for. Wrestling has allowed me to travel to many states and meet a lot of people. Wrestling has provided me the opportunity to meet some of my best friends and develop long time friendships. It has also taught me discipline, mental toughness, and has helped me develop leadership skills which I have been able to transfer into everyday life, especially school.

What global challenge would you like to see tackled and how do you see yourself contributing to the positive change that you desire?
-
A global challenge that I would love to see tackled is homelessness. Homelessness is a growing problem and has gotten even worse due to the Covid - 19 pandemic. There are plenty of ways that you can contribute and make a positive change but the main thing I see myself doing is volunteering to help feed the homeless. This can be through food drives which help collect food with my church. Also through collecting clothes and hygiene products for homeless kids and families through my moms' Kidscare Organization. Another way to tackle the problem of homelessness is to seek ways to help the homeless get off the streets. I would do this by working with organizations that are able to provide temporary shelter as well as providing resources that would help the homeless learn job skills to get employment.

Why Bullis?
-
A family may ask "Why Bullis ?", but my response would be "Why not Bullis?" Bullis has the perfect balance of academics, athletics, and the arts. At Bullis you are set up to succeed. You are encouraged to try new things and are welcomed with open arms. The teachers are very open to learning the students’ strengths and weaknesses, and are willing to go the extra mile to help you overcome your weaknesses and become a stronger student. Bullis is a safe place for everyone and really leans on developing you as a student and person. With Bullis' diversity you are bound to meet new people and make lifelong friends in the process. Bullis helps you to become a well rounded student and individual. So ask yourself, “Why Not Bullis?”
