History of Bullis School
Bullis School's Founding in 1930
Bullis School was founded in 1930 by Captain (ANG) William F. Bullis, a Naval Academy graduate and a preparatory school teacher, along with his wife, Lois Hoover Bullis, who was also a school teacher. They established the school with the goal of preparing young men for service academy entrance exams. Their vision was to create a supportive educational environment for post-graduate young men aspiring to enroll in service academies. The school started modestly in an embassy building in Washington, D.C., reflecting the founders' commitment to academic excellence and character development.
