Student Handbook: Standardized Tests

Students take a number of standardized tests during their time at Bullis. In the Lower and Middle Schools, students in grades 3 through 8 take the Educational Research Bureau’s Comprehensive Testing Program, 4th Edition (CTP 4). Commonly referred to as the ERBs, these tests offer our students valuable experience with standardized assessments and provide the school with information that informs our work with individual students. In the Upper School all students take the PSAT as sophomores, and all have the opportunity to take one of several national tests during their junior and senior years depending on their interests and college plans. These tests, which include the ACT, the SAT I and the SAT II, are introduced to students as part of the college counseling program. (See the College Counseling section of this website for more information.)
