National Park Trust Buddy Bison Program Provides Match

In the latest issue of the National Park Trust's Buddy Bison newsletter, read how Ms. Cohen's 3rd grade class helped Buddy Bison students at Hartsfield Elementary in Houston who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Along with The Odyssey School, a Buddy Bison partner school like Bullis that is located in Maryland, Ms. Cohen's class gathered supplies to help the students at Hartsfield. The 3rd graders gathered in a short time 24 uniform shirts,10 backpacks, crayons, markers, and pencils.

Alexander, from Bullis, said, "I felt happy to help the kids in Houston, Texas." In response, third-grader Javyn from Hartsfield Elementary said, "Thank you for helping our school," and Administrative Assistant Ms. Philip said, "We appreciate you all taking the time to think of us in our time of need."

Buddy Bison is a program of the National Park Trust and provides fully-funded outdoor park experiences to schoolchildren around the country.

We became artists, athletes and learners. We became friends. We became Bullis!
