Computer Music

Create an original composition or remix your favorite song this summer! Campers use professional software to generate unique compositions in a variety of styles: Latin, EDM and rock. Using pre-recorded loops, they use the tools of Soundtrap to learn the basics of editing, including manipulation of pitch, tempo, volume and panning. Campers expand their appreciation for computer music and are equipped with the skills and knowledge of sound software to produce their own original compositions even after camp ends!

Director: Stefi Gogerty is a classically trained trombonist who earned her degrees at Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University and San Francisco Conservatory of Music. After graduate school, she worked as an audio engineer and studio musician at a WAMA award-winning, recording studio in the DC area. In 2003, Ms. Gogerty was hired by Bullis School to create and teach their new Computer Music program. With cutting-edge vision, Bullis supported and funded a program that Ms. Gogerty has grown over the past 13 years, infusing music and technology into the Upper School curriculum at Bullis. Currently, Stefi teaches Computer Music level I, Computer Music level II, Sound Design and Programming (a music theory and computer science course) and Audio Engineering.
