Engineering in Action
Learn fundamental science concepts while having lots of fun! Campers experiment with gravity using hydraulic rockets, go for the bull’s eye with clothespin guns, assemble kites to cruise the summer sky and build balsa wood bridges to support hundreds of pounds. Campers become electricians working on electric circuits, batteries and motors and act as aerospace engineers building rockets. Every day is a blast!
Director: Dr. Badraslioglu, or "Dr. B" as he is referred to by campers and students, started teaching at Bullis in 2004 and has been a camp director with Bullis Summer Programs since 2009. He currently teaches AP Physics, Astrophysics, Epidemiology, and Mechanical Engineering at Bullis School. He believes students need to feel comfortable to learn and ask questions, and he uses humor to get their attention and technology to relay what they need to learn.
