Geology & Exploration

Sample soil and rocks, and simulate a variety of geological processes! Campers create their own crystals and conduct experiments with fossilization, stream erosion and sedimentation. In addition to learning about soil and rock formation, volcanism and principles of mountain building, campers view first-hand the theory of plate tectonics. Campers see how natural erosion by evidence of floods, air, water, rocks and vegetation intermingle at Great Falls National Historic Park and examine the geology beyond planet Earth.
