This year’s Jensen-Schmidt Tennis Tournament on campus attracted a big crowd to enjoy camaraderie and tennis on a beautiful summer day. More than 20 athletes participated, and 30 Bullis students along with six alumni worked with professional coaches to help the athletes in skill development and fitness drills.

The Jensen-Schmidt Tennis Academy was established and designed to meet the sport specific needs of children and young adults with Down syndrome. The goal is to help the students train in tennis while having fun and building relationships, and to use tennis as a means to enhance physical conditioning and mental and social abilities. Tournaments take place in eight different cities across the country, including in the Washington area right here on the Bullis campus.

The tournament is always fun for all, both athletes and student volunteers. Check out the photo gallery!
