Student Government is led by two co-presidents and supported by a treasurer. Each grade has three representatives. Elections for class representatives are held in May, and those students who are elected begin their service the following school year. The ninth grade class elects its representatives in the early fall to give new students a chance to meet their classmates.
Student Government is overseen by Mr. Pollicino, the Upper School assistant principal, and Mrs. Hosmer, an Upper School english teacher. Meetings take place every week on Tuesday and twice a month on Friday, and we discuss the week’s issues.
Each year, Student Government plans Homecoming week and the Homecoming Dance. It also hosts the annual dodgeball tournament and 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, both of which raise money for charity. Grade level representatives also plan events and activities for each individual class.
Between the Pep Rally, Bullympics, Hallway Decoration and the Dance, everyone had a great time at Homecoming. We had another successful dodgeball tournament most recently. Now, we have some time between our next event, so please send us suggestions.
